Missions Ministry
Our Missions Ministry develops deeply committed Christians by sending members of our congregation into our community, denomination and world to make disciples and serve others in ways that honor God, share Christ, transform lives and promote justice.
In the Local Community
Tutoring at the Lord Stirling Elementary School
Community Garden Project - located at the Shiloh Cemetery we have 3 raised beds that consist of nutritious produce and herbs.
Red Bag Food Collection Project - We have just marked the 2-year anniversary of our Red Bag Food Collection Project for Elijah's Promise. We have passed the 700 bag mark for bags of food delivered! For a list of especially needed items, please visit Elijah's Promise.
Anyone interested may take home a Red Bag, fill it with food and return it to the church on any Sunday of the month. The food will be delivered by our group of dedicated volunteers. Then take another bag home to fill at your convenience and return it to the church to keep the cycle of feeding the hungry going. Thanks to all for the generous donations of food!
School Supply Drive - providing filled backpacks donated to the Paul Robeson School in New Brunswick.
Christmas in October - We gather winter must-haves for the preschool children who attend PRAB at our facility. We look for donations of winter caps, mittens or gloves, and socks for over 90 children in the program, mostly 3 years-old, and some 4 and 5 year-olds.
Thanksgiving Baskets - helping local shut-ins and other families in need. The congregation donates turkeys, chicken, stuffing, canned food such as mixed vegetables, soups, candied yams, cranberry sauce and all of the other trimmings that go with the Thanksgiving meal. In addition fresh fruits and vegetables are added to each basket.
Wish Tree - helping over 100 children receive warm clothing and gifts for Christmas.
