SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED:  It is that time of year again when the Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for scholarships toward post-secondary education to be awarded in memory of Phyllis Hilton, Anne Hibbard and Wilbur Hibbard.  The qualifying criteria for these scholarships are easily met and the awards have historically been approximately $500.  If you feel you might be eligible for one of these scholarships, please see Nick Nickles to obtain an application.  The deadline for returning your completed application is May 31, 2012.  Interviews will be held in June and the scholarships will be presented during our worship service on July 15. – Nick Nickles

ALL-CHURCH PICNIC, LEADERSHIP TEAM NEEDED:  In years past various groups have organized an all-church picnic in the summer.  If we are to have one this summer toward the end of August we will need a group to take charge.  If you are interested and would like to participate in planning our picnic – everything from where we will have it, to the food we will eat, to making sure the site is clean when we leave – please speak to me by May 27th. – Jide Akinosho, Chair of Church Council.

RECYCLE YOUR BULLETIN, PLEASE:  There are containers at each door of the sanctuary to receive bulletins for recycling.  If you prefer not to take your bulletin home, please drop it in the recycling container so we can do our part as good stewards of the earth’s resources. Thanks!

IN PREPARATION FOR HERITAGE SUNDAY:

SAVE THE DATE – JUNE 24, 2012:  The United Methodist Church at New Brunswick will celebrate Heritage Sunday to end our Bicentennial Year.  The service will be followed by an ice cream social.  The theme to start our third century is Change the World. – Heritage Committee

BICENTENNIAL TIME CAPSULE:  If you have small memorabilia, pictures or would like to write a letter about your experiences at the United Methodist Church at New Brunswick to be included in a sealed Bicentennial Time Capsule, please contact Marilyn Kuna.

JOB SEARCH DISCUSSION GROUP:  We are planning to hold a discussion/workshop to help those of us who are currently engaged in a job search.  If you are interested in joining or helping organize this discussion please see Ellen Little.
